Altberlin Am Potsdamer Platz Hotel Berlin The Altberlin Am Potsdamer Platz Introduction: Located on the Potsdamer Platz close to the center of Berlin, the Altberlin hotel is housed in a historic 19th century building creating an atmosphere of old historic Berlin. The hotel was completely renovated in 2000. There are some historic elements in the hotel like the buffet from 1874 and the historical food lift in the restaurant, wall paintings, the well in the courtyard. Guests will enjoy the interiors in the turn-of-the-century style decorated with period furniture, old watches, and photos. Nearby guests will find the 'Wintergarten' Variete, the Philharmonie orchestra, the cultural centre and the Potsdamer Platz. The Rikes Gasthaus restaurant with a historical inner courtyard serves traditional cuisine from the historical Berlin. The recipes come from old cookbooks that has been a family heirloom. Guests will enjoy aromatic beer from the traditional Schultheiss Brewery. The Altberlin hotel features 50 comfortable rooms decorated in Wilhelminian style. All rooms are equipped with: Private bathroom with a bath and WC TV Telephone Facilities available to guests: Breakfast buffet Restaurant Children 12 years and under may stay at no additional cost in their parents' room. Distances City Centre (Berlin Mitte) 2 km ICC Congress Centre 6 km Main Train Station 3 km Directions By car: Take A100 and exit at Innsbrucker Platz. Follow the Hauptstrasse and then drive along the Potsdamer Strasse. The hotel is on the right side. By public transport: From TXL take the bus X9 in direction of the Ernst-Reuter-Platz and then take the U2 in direction of the Bülowstrasse and then go with bus 148 to the Lützowstrasse/Potsdamer Strasse. From S+U Zoologischer Garten take the U2 in direction Bülowstrasse and then take the bus 148 in direction Lützowstrasse/Potsdamer Strasse.
